Who we are and how we help the community
Welcome to the Community Innovation Collaborative!
The Community Innovation Collaborative grew naturally out of a cooperative group of
friends and organizations who have long enjoyed working together. We realized early in
our associations that we had the collective strength of whole agencies and could
efficiently and cost effectively deliver support services and programs in our community
by simply reaching out to one another.
In 2025, we decided to formalize our loose knit association into the Community
Innovation Collaborative. Our list of CIC Capacity Building Services and Programs,
many with concurrent microcertifications and internship opportunities, currently includes:
• 3D Printing and Prototyping
• AI Resiliency & Ethics Training
•Audio/Visual Technology
• Automotive Technician Training
• Computer technician/test bench training
• Electronics Training
• Entrepreneurship
• Gaming & Streaming
• Laser Cutting
• Manufacturing
• Media & Marketing
• Professional Development for Educators and Community organizers
• Robotics & Automation
• Sewing & Textiles
• Software development
• Visual Arts and Graphic Design
In 2026, the CIC will be adding a Preferred Provider Director for a range of additional
resources and service organizations we’ve collectively found to offer reliable and
effective community support services across workforce and career development, home
and family advocacy, and K-12 education.
Together, we’re also working to identify a suitable colocation site for our organizations,
in the service of creating a one stop community resource facility, as well as developing a
road map to help other nonprofits and Benefit Corporations create similar innovation
and advocacy hubs in their own communities.
Scaling the Community Innovation Collaborative model to more communities – creating
expansive, inclusive, accessible 21st century training and education spaces fully
equipped with tools and resources providing collaborative opportunities to like-minded,
mission aligned non-profits – will exponentially serve more people in more cost-
effective, meaningful, connected, human-centered ways that matter and make a positive
enduring impact that can keep better pace with emerging career and job trends.
